# Risks and fees

  The risk of loss in trading leveraged perpetual contracts can be substantial. Perps are not suitable for everyone. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose entirely.

## Fees

BlockLive does not currently charge a fee on Perps trades. Perpl charges its own trading fees and funding payments, and blockchain network fees apply to on-chain transactions. If we introduce a fee, we will show it to you before you trade.

## Risks

* **Leverage** magnifies gains and losses. A small move against you can wipe out the margin on a position.
* **Liquidation:** Perpl can liquidate a position automatically and without notice. Any liquidation price shown in Chart Arena is an estimate.
* **Funding:** payments set by Perpl can be a continuing cost and can reduce your margin.
* **Auto-deleveraging:** in stressed markets Perpl may reduce or close positions, including profitable ones.
* **Prices:** liquidations, protective orders and profit and loss use Perpl's prices, which can differ from the chart and from other venues.
* **Protocol risk:** Perpl is an early-stage protocol and can suffer bugs, exploits, downtime or oracle failures. It can refuse, delay or limit orders and withdrawals.
* **Stablecoin risk:** AUSD can lose its peg, or be frozen or restricted by its issuer.
* **Key and server risk:** your trading key stays valid until you revoke it. Anyone who obtained it could trade your account to a loss, though not withdraw from it. Our servers or networks can fail when you want to open or close a position.
* **No protection scheme:** your funds aren't covered by deposit insurance or any investor-compensation scheme.
* **Taxes** on your trading are your responsibility.

Charts, leaderboards, share cards and other information in Chart Arena are for information and entertainment only. They aren't recommendations, and past results don't predict future results. Section 19.7 of the [Terms](https://chartarena.xyz/terms) has the full list.

## Game items

Stages, purses, health, badges, cards, XP, gems and ranks in Crypto Mode are game features. They have no monetary value and can't be redeemed, sold or withdrawn.
